What is Acne and How To Get Rid Of Acne
Acne is a common problem faced by almost all teen-agers and youth. What is acne and why do we get them. Acne is actually caused because of hormone imbalance. Acne medications may cause your skin to initially break out worse than before because all FDA-approved acne medications (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur) are causing your skin to regenerate faster. This brings existing acne pimples already under your skin (but not visible yet) to the surface, which in turn causes a massive but fortunately temporary break out. Give the medications about one to two weeks and you will notice a big difference in the quality of your skin.
Go easy on your face. Washing removes oils from the surface of the skin, not from within the plugged ducts. In fact, if you’re too aggressive in your quest for cleanliness, you may end up drying out or irritating the sensitive skin on your face.

If you want to get rid of acne you will avoid products that use oils, like fabric softener, to moisturize and cause acne. Yes, bacteria do cause acne, but putting synthetic oils and moisturizers on things like your clothes, your towels, and your bedding is just as harmful as rubbing oils all over your face. Oils that are transferred from products like fabric softener will begin clogging your pores the minute you put that towel to your face or your face to your pillow.
Cut down on your consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates. Recent research has shown that eating these foods triggers a process which leads to a production of too many male hormones. In turn, the skin is moved to excrete huge amounts of sebum which fosters the increase in skin bacteria - that triggers acne.
Your skin care regimen has to be consistent. You have to wash and treat your face every day, at least twice a day (morning and night). Also, if you get dirty or sweaty during the day, for example by doing exercise, make sure to wash your face afterwards – don’t let the dirtiness sit on your face until right before you go to bed. You only need three basic skin care products in order to get rid of acne (unless you have severe enough acne to warrant prescription treatment). You need a facial cleanser, a benzoyl peroxide cream, and a moisturizer.
